It depends almost entirely on size, access and what is under the tree. A small back-yard tree and a 90-foot oak overhanging your roof are very different jobs. The fastest way to a real number is to text or upload two or three photos -- one from far enough back to show the whole tree, one of the base, and one showing what is underneath it. Most of the time we can price it from photos without anyone taking a day off work.

Yes. We carry liability insurance and we will send you the certificate before we start -- you should ask every company that quotes you for the same thing, and you should be suspicious of anyone who will not produce it. An uninsured crew working over your house makes you the one holding the risk.

Yes, and it is included in the price we quote. Brush gets chipped, wood gets cut and hauled or stacked wherever you want it, and we rake and blow the work area before we leave. If you want to keep the wood for firewood, tell us and we will cut it to length and stack it instead of hauling it off.

Stump grinding is priced separately so you can decide. Plenty of customers have the tree taken down and leave the stump for later, and that is fine. If you want it ground, we grind it below grade, rake out the chips and leave the hole ready for topsoil.

For a quote, usually within a day or two, and often the same day if you send photos. For the work itself, scheduling depends on the season -- late winter and after a storm are our busiest stretches. Storm damage and anything actively threatening a house or a power line goes to the front of the line.

That is exactly what the insurance and the rigging are for. We do not fell large limbs over structures -- they come down on ropes, in pieces small enough to control. In ten years of climbing, that discipline is the reason we can work over a roof at all.

The service drop running to your house is usually ours to work around. Anything touching the primary lines on the pole is the utility's, and we will tell you straight when it is a call to AEP rather than a call to us.

Almost never, and we will explain why rather than just take the money. Topping a healthy tree makes it more dangerous, not less -- the regrowth is weakly attached and snaps in storms. If a tree is too big for its spot there are proper reduction cuts that keep it structurally sound, and if it genuinely has to go, we will say so.
